For a guy who identifies himself as adamantly agnostic, explaining the unexplainable presents an especially difficult challenge. But I can honestly say that what I felt in my first trip to Wrigley Field was nothing short of a spiritual rebirth.
And as I made the trek home from the Mecca of the Midwest in 2004, all I could think of were balls, strikes, pine tar and some of the finest Cracker Jack’s ever made. Continue Reading »

John McCain should be absolutely ashamed of himself. I know he is desperate, but questioning Barack Obama’s patriotism in front of an auditorium full of veterans is about the most despicable, deplorable, impetuous political strategy I have ever witnessed.

Who am I writing for:
This critique is written for your typical music/entertainment magazine. The target audience is your “in the know” music fans who can’t decide if they need a 10th album from the same artist.

There are serious, unanswered concerns that the Chicago bureaucracy has not addressed that would lead to disastrous infrastructure problems, legitimate security concerns, environmental issues and foreign policy mistakes that would cripple the city for the duration of the Olympic games. To whom it may concern,
Hosting the Olympics in 2016 would be the greatest event to take place in Chicago since the World’s Fair in 1893. While there would certainly be complications and minor disruptions to the everyday city life of native Chicagoans, the Olympics would positively affect the community, showcase America’s greatest city, and highlight America’s positive influences at a time when United States’ global image is in dire need of restoration. Try to imagine… scratch that.
I won’t ask you to imagine what it is like to have someone you love brutally murdered in an act of senseless violence. You, nor I, can possibly imagine how impossible something like that must be to deal with. But I can tell you without hesitation, if someone close to me were murdered I would unequivocally want to see the murderer put to death. Continue Reading »
